A friend

A friend is someone that won’t judge,
When you aren’t up to talking
A friend is there to lend a hand
Even though you were not asking
A friend won’t rush you off the phone
When they hear how down you sound
A friend will know when you need a hug
Because maybe you feel unloved.

A break

To all of my readers-
Who patiently wait-
For my next entry-
To open the gate-
Where has the time gone?
It slipped by too fast-
From babysitting-
To homework-
To Mom, what’s for dinner-
More time in the day-
Is all I need-
To get the jobs done-
Alas, what is this?
Some time to myself?
What did I do
To deserve this I felt-
Thank you my love,
I needed a break!

Anxiety

When I walk into a store
And my children ignore
What I just told them not to ask for
Then this feeling inside me
Takes over my body
I know it all too well, Anxiety.

When I’m surrounded
And feel trapped within
If there’s too much noise around me
Then this feeling inside me
Takes over my body
I know it all too well, Anxiety.

When life gets too hard or too busy
And I feel there’s no way to get through it
It makes me too tired
To get through the day
Then this feeling inside me
Takes over my body
I know it all too well, Anxiety.

Goodbye

Goodbye my friend-
These tears are for you-
Our years of friendship-
Were long now they’re through-
Goodbye my friend-
I have to move on-
The tears for you-
Are now all gone-
Goodbye my friend-
I miss you-
I love you-
God Bless You

Spring Break

My Spring Break has been anything but fun-

Kids arguing, and fighting, not getting chores done-

Threats of groundings and essays too-

Only bring dirty looks, or “Mom, I don’t like you!”-

Rooms torn apart to bag old things up-

Only makes bigger messes for me-

I’d rather drink something in my cup-

By the end of the day-

After all is said and done-

Today will only be a memory-

in years to come.

Wall-flower

From my blog,”Crocheting Cures Mental Illness!”

Rachel's Words

There she was at another school dance,

waiting with her back to the wall.

Will anyone ask her if she wants to dance?

If she says yes, will she know what to do?

How to move her feet, and not step on his shoe?

Another fast dance, she’s sure people would laugh.

That girl without rhythm,

is making a fool of herself.

Oh no, he’s looking at her

from across the room.

She holds her breath, because now is the time.

Day-dreamer

From my blog,”Crocheting Cures Mental Illness!”

Rachel's Words

She walks into the room and nobody notices.

She feels invisible.

She never raises her hand to ask a question,

for fear of rejection.

What if they laugh, or say she’s dumb?

So, she sits in the back of the room all alone.

She drifts into a dream where all she sees,

are butterflies, birds and green, shade trees.

She lays in the cool, damp grass on her back

and stares at the white, puffy clouds.

She rolls over to find in front of her face,

a new dandelion just waiting for her to blow and make a wish.

She closes her eyes tight and takes a deep breath,

then blows ever so slightly,

until the white seeds are set in motion.

Why can’t she stay in this dream forever?

The bell rings and awakens her from her slumber.
