Spring Break

28 Mar

My Spring Break has been anything but fun-

Kids arguing, and fighting, not getting chores done-

Threats of groundings and essays too-

Only bring dirty looks, or “Mom, I don’t like you!”-

Rooms torn apart to bag old things up-

Only makes bigger messes for me-

I’d rather drink something in my cup-

By the end of the day-

After all is said and done-

Today will only be a memory-

in years to come.

Sounds like a chaotic spring break. I’ve lived through this life (my family had 9 kids growing up and there was lots of yelling and noise). The weird thing is though, that I have fond memories looking back–even remembering the noise and chaos makes me laugh now. Hang in there! (And being a “mean” mom where your kids don’t like you can be the greatest compliment, didn’t you know. It means you care about them and aren’t letting them run wild and be hoodlums)

I can relate Charissa. My family had 9 kids growing up also so I can remember the constant chaos! That’s a great way to look at it, when they say they don’t like me, I’ll remember that with the next dirty look or complaint 🙂
